In 2016, after long consideration, Damien decided that Stifel was the clear choice to best serve his clients: one of the nation's leading wealth management and investment banking firms meets entrepreneurial spirit. The best of both worlds.
“Investing isn’t about the markets, it’s about people.
It’s about you and making your money work for you.” – Damien Caillault
Damien Caillault has been a Financial Advisor with Stifel since 2016. Prior to this, he spent eight years with the GMS Group, where he developed a deep understanding of the fixed income market and municipal bonds, in particular.
Damien began his investment industry career in 2008 in the midst of the Great Recession. Experiencing this firsthand convinced him that it is easier to build wealth when one does not have to make up for losses. Therefore, his first priority is to develop strategies designed to seek stability and return of principal for clients before anything else.
Damien earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc., which identifies those individuals who have met the experience requirements of the CFP Board, have successfully completed financial planning coursework, and have passed the CFP® Certification Examination.
Drawing on the specialized knowledge gained from obtaining the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™ designation, Damien also focuses heavily on helping his clients plan for retirement. He assists clients in understanding where they are today, what will be required for retirement, and what they’ll need to do between now and then. He not only looks at his clients’ savings and investments, but also Social Security, long-term care expenses, cost of living, and Medicare.
A U.S. citizen since 2012, Damien was born and raised in France and studied and worked in the United Kingdom and Spain. Being trilingual, as well as his experience in other industries (exports, construction, and fragrances, amongst others), helps him keep a common sense and grounded approach when analyzing companies and understanding investors’ backgrounds.
Outside the office, Damien enjoys every minute he can spend with his daughter, Gwendoline, and wife, Diana. He uses the little spare time he has cooking delicious meals for them, traveling, enjoying the outdoors, and volunteering with the Morristown Rotary Club.
